How CIS Works
Rome-Floyd Communities in Schools

What is Rome-Floyd CIS?
Rome-Floyd CIS is a succeed-in-school program adopted by
the city and county school systems in 1993, in partnership
with business and community leaders.

Our Mission
The CIS mission is to increase this community's high school
graduation rate.  CIS connects community resources with
schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in
school, and prepare for life.

There are CIS classes in 7 schools, serving more than 285
students:
  •        Armuchee Middle School
  •        Coosa Middle School
  •        Floyd Education Center
  •        Model Middle School
  •        Pepperell Middle School
  •        Rome High School
  •        Rome Transitional Academy

Additionally, CIS serves all schools in both systems by
coordinating the Rome-Floyd School Mentor Program for
them (32 schools, 15,000 students).
